Christophe Verrue and Sandrine Dupoint (left), with their 2 daughters Lea and Satine, moved from Belgium to the Dominican Republic end of 2007. They had a successful “Interior design, flowers and landscaping” company in Belgium prior moving to the Dominican Republic. They owned a couple of apartments in Cabarete for several years and were familiar with the area. For nearly 10 years, they had spent their yearly vacations there as well.

After conducting their research, they bought the property in “El Choco”. Christophe : “Creativity is my passion, I love contemporary design and I feel better on the field than in an office. My wife and I make a great team and this project is perfect for us.”

It took a few months to get the property platted, select and hire the local architect, as well as the contractor, and get started. They immediately decided to build a very large demo villa of 504m²/5,600SF, on the most challenging lot. Due to the excellent follow-up of Christophe, very “hands-on” developer, and to the great job of the general contractor, ten months later, in April 2009, the demo villa was finished and completely furnished. The same time, they had already sold 2 villas type AZUR. The first one completed in August 2009, the owner moved in and is very satisfied, and the construction of the second one started in September 2009. Two more villas started in January 2010. Christophe and his family live on the project. I don't think there is a better insurance fo rthe customers?

Laurent Vannest and Els Thermote (right), Belgian citizens as well, live in Kansas City ( Kansas – USA ) since 2003. Els is shareholder of TVH (Thermote & Vanhalst) (www.tvh.com) a family business distributing forklifts and forklift parts and she is CEO of SMH (www.smhco.com), located in Kansas, USA. Laurent is a Real Estate Developer in the Kansas City area and has about 12 years of experience in construction in Europe and in Kansas City. Laurent knew Christophe for many years, being raised in the same hometown, and after a few phone calls realized they would make a strong team together.
